a demon and a kid as pure as snow, always at each other's side. zabuza came upon a small wretched kid beside a garbage dump who seems to have been chained. zabuza stared at the kid with that ever scowling fierce eyes of his. zabuza'z shadow as it fell on the child was in the shape of a demon. their eyes met. the kid looked surprise. what an unfortunate child, chuckled zabuza. a brat like you is not wanted by everyone. you will die with neither freedom nor dreams. but as he said this zabuza was surprised. haku was smiling at him and said, you have the same eyes as me.

zabuza decided to took him in, to claim his blood as his. to be used as a tool, a weapon. the day he ran away to become a missing nin, zabuza had made it clear that he doesn't need consolation or encouragement. haku had known this. he promised zabuza that he would be zabuza's weapon, the tool that will always be at his side. from that they on, they were always together. zabuza trained haku. and haku took care of zabuza.

haku love zabuza very much, and of course respects him greatly. when gatou and his 2 body guards came after zabuza failed to kill tazuna, this was after his first fight with kakash,. zabuza was rendered almost completely incapacitated after haku saved him by making him appear dead. lying in bed zabuza was approached by gatou. as the business man reached out, haku caught and crushed his arm. he warned gatou not to touch zabuza with his dirty hands. that's how sacred zabuza was to him. he also doesn't want to scar zabuza's body. to him, it is too beautiful.

haku never hesitates to do anything for zabuza-san. as on that fateful on the bridge, when he felt he was failing zabuza, he wanted to die. he couldn't bear to think that the he had disappointed the only person who wanted him, who 'acknowledge' him as naruto puts it. he knew he was no use to zabuza as a failure and with that he has no reason to live anymore. so he stood with the mask crumbling from his face. he asked naruto to kill him. he couldn't bear to be unwanted again. naruto did hesitate but he understood and was about to get around to killing haku when haku saw another opportunity to redeem himself. so he threw himself in front of zabuza before kakashi could use his raikiri on zabuza. again, he had saved zabuza's life.

haku was smiling with a peaceful expression on his face, when kakashi laid him down and closed his eyes. i think he heard it when zabuza praised him for blocking kakashi's attack. when kakashi was bringing zabuza to lie next to him, it started to snow. when he was finally laid down next to haku, zabuza lifted his hand to touch his face. a snow flake fell on haku's cheek and slide down his face as it melts...
